How it works
- 1Install the Elderoak app on the parent's paired Apple Watch (Series 4 or later) from the iPhone Watch app.
- 2Open Elderoak on the Watch once and tap Allow on the 'receive fall detection events' prompt.
- 3From then on, if the Watch detects a fall, the family group gets a notification to call and check in — the Watch shows a small 'Family notified' banner.
Common questions
Does Elderoak detect the fall itself?
No — Apple Watch does the fall detection and runs Apple's built-in emergency-services countdown. Elderoak relays a lighter-weight heads-up to your family, so you're notified even when your parent is fine and dismisses Apple's prompt.
Is this a medical-alert or 911 service?
No. The family relay is a best-effort push notification, not an emergency-grade signal and not a replacement for a medical-alert service. For any real emergency, call your local emergency number directly.
Which Apple Watch models work?
Apple Watch fall detection is available on Series 4 and later. The Elderoak Watch app also shows the day's medications and appointments and a one-tap SOS that notifies the family group.
