Caring for an aging parent from another city

When you live a flight away, the worry is not knowing what's happening day to day. Elderoak gives you the same shared care record as the family member who lives nearby — medications, appointments, and notes — so distance doesn't mean being in the dark.

How it works

  1. 1Set up the parent you care for and add their medications, doctors, and appointments once.
  2. 2Invite the local family member or paid aide who sees them in person, so their notes and dose confirmations show up on your phone in real time.
  3. 3Check the Today view from anywhere to see what's been given, what's coming up, and any observations logged after a visit.

Common questions

Can I keep track without being there in person?

Yes. As long as someone local — family or a paid aide — is logging doses, appointments, and notes, you see all of it live from wherever you are. Elderoak is built for multiple people coordinating one person's care.

How do I stay in sync with the family member who lives nearby?

You share one family group. Every dose marked taken, appointment added, or note written appears for everyone at once, so there's no catch-up phone call needed.

Does my parent have to use the app?

No. The person you care for doesn't need their own account for the family to track care on their behalf. If they'd like a simpler view with larger text and a one-tap SOS, you can invite them too.
